Topic Info:
  • Difficult location to get to so a car is almost necessary getting around on the base. There is no public transportation into, or out of the base, except for a two mile walk to the front gate, then a very expensive taxi. See the info on Roadrunner Shuttle below.
  • The air terminal is open approximately 7:30 to 4:00 on normal work days and closed on weekends and holidays. The terminal usually does answer their phone if anyone is in the terminal. Finding someone at the numbers of the ANG and VR-55 is exceptionally difficult and you will just have to keep trying. The base does have flights going in an out bringing personal in for training so if you are lucky enough to catch a flight that you need there is usually room. Long term parking is available adjacent to the terminal – quarters are usually available if needed – but places to eat are at a premium.
