  • Patriot express flights between BWI and RAF Mildenhall are scheduled to cease after January 1st 2024.
  • Ramstein (approx 3 per week) and Aviano/Incirlik through Ramstein (1 per week) and some to/from McGuire AFB.  A monthly Patriot Express Schedule is available from the AMC Passenger Service Counter in-person and on their Terminal Page (7 days before the next month).  The regular flights to/from NAS Jacksonville were discontinued in Oct 13 - that mission now goes to/from Norfolk instead of BWI. [As of October 2023]

Local Expert Advice!
Topic Info:
  • Dining Options: There is one restaurant nearby which is outside of security, and the food is only slightly better than the service, which isn't much. If flying in to BWI, it is recommended to dine inside the security area prior to leaving it for the USO and AMC Counter, which is outside of security.
  • Need a Taxi?: If your budget is really tight take the free Amtrak/Marc shuttle, outside the USO/AMC area, to the Amtrak station (a couple miles) where the taxi rates are a little better than the exclusive "BWI Airport Taxi"s found outside baggage claim.

How do I...?
Topic Info:
  1. How can I travel to/from Curtis Bay Coast Guard Station from/to BWI?
    1. Baltimore Bus & Rail System Bus #64 runs seven days a week between Curtis Bay Yard (bus stop is @ front gate) & Penn Station. From Penn Station take the Blue (light rail) Line (Hunt Valley - BWI Line) to BWI.
  2. How can I use Public Transportation from BWI to Dulles Airport?
    1. WMTA's B30 bus stop is just in front of where you leave the AMC area at BWI and is normally twice an hour and $7 cash and takes 35-40 minutes to the top of the WMTA Green Line at Greenbelt.   The Metro now requires a SmarTrip® card for each rider age 5 and older To get one, details are posted at http://www.wmata.com/fares/purchase/vending.cfm. Take the Green Line to the L'Enfant stop and change to the new Silver line and head to the end of it at Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station (about 75 minutes).  Take the pedestrian overpass and go to the North side of the tracks to the parking garage where all the buses stop on the ground floor and take the "Washington Flyer" Bus to Dulles Airport (15 minutes and $5).  The total elapsed time can be as quick as 3 hours if you hit all the connections fairly cleanly but longer if you don't! The total price would be under $20.  All info and prices are as of January 2015.
  3. How can I use Public Transportation from BWI to Reagan National Airport?
    1. To get to Reagan National from BWI, follow the Dulles instructions above except change at L'Enfant (or Fort Totten or Gallery Place) and get on the Yellow line south for a few stops.
  4. How can I use Public Transportation from BWI to Andrews AFB?
    1. To get to Andrews, you would stay on the Green line to the end at Branch Avenue. Then take the WMTA's K12 Bus, or a taxi for about $7 to the gate.
